County Planner Mike Thomas worked for months preparing an application to designate Transylvania
County a "Preserve America Community." Jason Chappell, Transylvania County Board of Commission
Chairman, received a letter dated July 8, 2010 & will receive a certificate of
designationsigned by Mrs. Obama announcing that Transylvania County is now a Preserve America Community. |

Meeting Agenda
Transylvania Genealogical Society will hold meetings open to the public
as well as members on the 2nd Tuesday, 7 pm, bi-monthly in 2010, at Community Services
Building, NC Cooperative Extension's conference room, corner of East Morgan and Gaston
Streets, Brevard. Meetings will start with a short business session followed by about 45
minutes with either a member or guest speaker who will share research tips and family
information. Everyone will be welcome to stay for a "sharing time" after the
formal meeting.
